Laboratory Blenders for the pharmaceutical industry
Laboratory Blender - LM
L.B. Bohle Blending Systems have been specially developed for the homogeneous mixing of pharmaceutical solids. In addition to large batch mixers, L.B Bohle offers the LM 40 Laboratory Blender, a mixer for Research & Development or small batches.
More about the highlights
L.B. Bohle Blending Systems have been specially developed for the homogeneous mixing of pharmaceutical solids. The mixing process is based on the use of mixing elements within the mixing container. The resulting counter-current process guarantees particularly gentle mixing of the product with relatively short Blending Times and low mixing speeds. At the same time, the counter-current process prevents contamination of the operators and the product during the process.
The LM 40 Laboratory Blender has been optimised for Research & Development. The compact mixer is driven by an AC motor integrated in the housing; the device control is also housed in the machine body to save space. The LM 40 enables the flexible mixing of a wide variety of container types. As standard, containers equipped with fitting tubes are picked up via the fork load support. Square containers, drums, double-cone containers, V-shells and other special containers can also be processed as an option.
An optional mobile lifter allows convenient and ergonomic handling of all containers. Laboratory Blender is therefore ideal for use in development laboratories and pilot plants. Thanks to its rotation around just one axis and its small footprint, the LM 40 requires minimal space and can therefore be optimally integrated into existing laboratory environments.

LM is mobile and flexible on wheels
Since 1987, L.B. Bohle has been producing Container Blenders that are used in pharmaceutical, chemical and nutraceutical production lines worldwide. Thanks to their sophisticated design, patented mixing elements and flexible intake systems, batch sizes from 5 to 12,000 litres can be mixed homogeneously and in compliance with GMP. The systems offer maximum efficiency, simple integration and are designed for both laboratory applications and automated large-scale production.
For which area of application was the LM 40 Laboratory Blender developed?
The LM 40 is specially designed for Research & Development. It enables efficient and gentle mixing of pharmaceutical solids and is ideal for laboratory environments thanks to its compact design and high mobility.
How does the LM 40 mixing principle work?
The mixing process is based on mixing elements in the container that generate a counterflow principle. This ensures homogeneous mixing at low speeds and short Blending Times without product loss or risk of contamination.
Which container types can be used in the LM 40?
Containers with fitting tubes are picked up as standard. As an option, square containers, drums, double-cone containers, V-shells and other special containers can also be processed.
Is it possible to scale-up to production facilities?
Yes, the mixing system from L.B. Bohle guarantees a safe and reproducible Scale-up. The mixing results achieved in the Laboratory Blender can be seamlessly transferred to production mixers with up to 12,000 litres.
