Our two test centres - the Technology Center and the Service Center - stand for innovative processes and practical process optimisation in the pharmaceutical industry. In the Technology Centre, we develop and test continuous manufacturing processes that set new standards in efficiency and quality.
The Service Centre, on the other hand , offers the opportunity to test complete process chains under realistic conditions, optimise production processes and conduct training courses. Together, the two centres create a unique environment that combines research, development and application, paving the way for pioneering solutions in pharmaceutical solids production.
With the modular QbCon® system, the Technology Centre offers a globally unique system for the continuous production of coated tablets via direct compression, wet or dry granulation. In addition, other individual machines such as QbCon® 1, BRC, BCG, BCD and KOCO® are available for flexible testing and development.
QbCon® production system
The QbCon® continuous production system installed in the Technology Centre enables the production of oral solids at a Throughput of 5 - 25 kg/h. Thanks to the modular design of QbCon® , production can be realised as follows:
- Continuous direct compression
- Continuous Wet Granulation
- Continuous Dry Granulation
This gives us a globally unique system for the production of coated tablets from raw powders in a continuous production cycle. Together with our internationally recognised partners Korsch AG (Tableting) and Gericke AG (continuous dosing and mixing), we present a fully integrated solution. In contrast to existing systems, the modular QbCon® system enables the flexible arrangement of different individual operations and opens the way for a customised solution according to customer requirements.

In addition to tests on the QbCon® production system, tests can also be carried out on the following individual operations :

In the Service Center at our headquarters in Ennigerloh, we offer our customers the opportunity to test our machines for all process steps in pharmaceutical solids production and to optimise their processes. Production for batch sizes from 10 to 30 kg is installed on an integrated production area of more than 600m2. Each machine is installed in an open box for optimum accessibility for product tests and demonstrations. The sequence of the machines corresponds to that of standard pharmaceutical production.
L.B. Bohle's Service Centre has state-of-the-art machines for all steps of pharmaceutical solids production - from granulation and mixing to tablet compression and Tablet Coating. Customers benefit from technical trials, process development and optimisation as well as training courses and workshops in cooperation with leading universities. With this equipment, both individual process steps and complete production processes can be tested and improved in a practical manner.
