Continuous Wet Granulation and drying have long been a much-discussed topic in pharmaceutical Research & Development (R&D) and small-scale production of oral pharmaceutical solids. Wet Granulation and granule drying also play a prominent role in continuous manufacturing. QbCon® 1 is the only system on the market for Research & Development that fulfils the quality requirements of pharmaceutical production.
This includes a short residence time of the granules in the dryer with a narrow Residence Time Distribution at the same time. This property is important in order to be able to reject defective product in a targeted manner without having to discard too large a partial quantity.
Furthermore, narrow Residence Time Distributions simplify the traceability of material in the continuous process, making it easier and less complex to trace finished tablets back to the starting products or to subsequently trace the starting products back to the finished tablet.

With the help of a patented fluidised bed dryer and narrow Residence Time Distributions, the system enables uniform and reproducible granule drying over several hours, regardless of Particle Size.
