High-shear granulator GMA
High-shear granulators have been used successfully in the pharmaceutical industry for decades as a shaping process for granulation. In high-shear granulation, a binding liquid is added to the powdered particles in a closed container equipped with an agitator blade and a chopper.

The GMA high-shear granulator is a granulation system specially optimised for pharmaceutical applications and designed for wall installation. The centrepiece of the GMA granulator is the cylindrical process vessel with a double-curved base. In combination with the agitator blade geometry, the container shape ensures effective granulation.
The agitator blade with a high shearing and compacting effect guarantees effective granulation. Dense granules are formed. The chopper prevents excessive pellet growth and distributes the pelletising liquid in the product.
The high-shear granulation range from L.B. Bohle includes systems on a laboratory and production scale.
The container is connected to the head section by means of electrically driven lifting cylinders and can therefore be lowered for inspection, for example. The GMA pelletiser operates at up to 12 bar and is designed to withstand pressure surges.
In the pressure shock-resistant version, the lifting spindles of the hopper are so strong that they keep the hopper closed even in the event of an accident. A filling nozzle for gravity feeding is located in the head section. The control cabinet is also located directly on the machine - at the rear.
