Ennigerloh (ste). More space, more light and more quality: this is how Lorenz Bohle, founder of L.B. Bohle Maschinen und Verfahren GmbH, envisions the new canteen for his more than 200 employees in Ennigerloh. He is investing around 1 million euros in the building, which will be an eye-catcher on the company premises on Industriestrasse with its large glass façade. "We have a lot of employees who value something special," says the entrepreneur. Since May, lunch has no longer been delivered. "We employ a chef. This has gone down very well with the workforce." Since then, more employees have been going to the canteen than before. "The number of meals has doubled."
The new chef not only brings more quality, but also more flexibility to the lunch break. "When the food was still delivered, employees had to order their food the week before," explains Lorenz Bohle. "Now they can choose from three dishes every day." Customers and guests can also be catered for in the new canteen. Outdoor seating is also planned.
Construction, which has already begun, is due to be completed in December. The old canteen had 60 seats on 180 square metres, while the new one has more than 80 on 300 square metres. "This number can be doubled because the food can be served in two shifts in future," explains Bohle. Later, it will also be possible to deliver the food from Ennigerloh to the Bohle site in Sassenberg.
The entrepreneur has new plans for the 30-year-old building that currently houses the canteen. "The space in the centre of the company premises is now too valuable for a single-storey building." It is to be demolished to make way for a two-storey building that will extend the office complex in a U-shape.
