Strong sales growth in anniversary year
L.B. Bohle closed 2021 with the best sales result in the company's history. Years of investment in the development of continuous production facilities and currently in global service are paying off.

Just in time for its 40th year of existence, L.B. Bohle is adding a particularly successful chapter to its four-decade success story. The 2021 financial year closed with the best sales result in the company's history. "Years of investment in the development of continuous production facilities and currently in global service are bearing fruit," said Tim Remmert, Managing Director Sales. Thanks to a strong order intake for 2022, the company firmly expects the trend to continue. Trade fair cancellations worldwide, massive contact restrictions and far-reaching lockdowns in almost all economic regions - 2021 got off to a bad start with the third wave of coronavirus. "Despite these difficult conditions, L.B. Bohle has invested in new development projects, a new plant and global service," reports Managing Director Tim Remmert. "This courage has paid off, as we have been able to realise major projects in the USA, Germany and again in South America."
Batch equipment remains bestseller
The company is also one of the most sought-after suppliers of systems for classic batch production. "Our machines for tablet production continue to be in high demand in a wide range of sizes," explains Thorsten Wesselmann, Managing Director Technology.
Growth rates are reminiscent of the early years
The anniversary year 2021 almost reminds Lorenz Bohle of the early days: "We also recorded annual growth rates of 20 to 50 per cent - but of course we started from a lower level," says the founder. Since 1981, he has built up the Ennigerloh-based company as a specialised machine manufacturer for pharmaceutical production and established it as a global technology leader. "Unfortunately, the planned anniversary event had to be cancelled due to coronavirus and all the restrictions in autumn 2021," regrets Bohle. "However, we will hold the anniversary gala on 20 May 2022 in the Olympiahalle in Ennigerloh." Directly before this - on 18 and 19 May 2022 - L.B. Bohle will welcome experts at the "Innovation Days" and provide information on the current status and future of Continuous Manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry. The international workshop will take place in the new Plant 4, for which the foundation stone was laid in March 2021. An approx. 2,000 m2 production complex with the latest standards is being built on the 12,000 m2 site.
Global service increasingly in demand
Last year in particular, the after-sales business was intensified and the team was strengthened. "Due to the continuously growing number of systems on the market, the demand for spare parts and, above all, machine conversions and retrofits is also increasing. We are able to meet this demand quickly, flexibly and competently with our expanded team," says Tim Remmert.
Company growth also means an increase in employees
The topic of personnel is at the top of the agenda at L.B. Bohle. "We currently employ around 270 people at our sites in Ennigerloh and Sassenberg and are pleased with the low staff turnover. In order to realise the continuous increase in turnover, meet the strong demand and maintain our top position in the market, we are continuing to recruit specialists," reports Thorsten Wesselmann. Reinforcements are constantly being sought, particularly in the areas of Software Development, Customer Service and Service.
